Lorpen STO Outlast Ski is a three-layer high sock (golf) of medium thickness designed for high loads when skiing in cold weather conditions.

Two-layer polyamide zones in the forefoot area increase wear resistance and protection in areas of increased friction between the sock and ski boot.
The TriLayer socks are made from a combination of natural wool and high-tech synthetic fibres.
Thanks to the use of Primaloft polyester yarn, the socks have increased wear resistance compared to all-wool socks.

The material is specially designed by Outlast Technologies to provide optimal thermal regulation.
In 2003, the company received a certificate for use in space.

The effectiveness of the technology is based on the use of Phase Change Materials (PCM), which are capable of absorbing, storing and radiating heat. The structure of Outlast fibre includes material particles that can accumulate and radiate the accumulated heat by changing their phase - liquid (traditionally) or solid. This makes it possible to accumulate a large amount of thermal energy at a constant body temperature, and then allows temperature fluctuations to be levelled out. This creates an ideal microclimate: not too cold and not too hot.
The effectiveness of the material is confirmed by ISO and ASTM systems.
Outlast thermal underwear is ideal for civilian use as a base layer (adaptation to outdoor/indoor conditions or temperature changes in the morning/afternoon/evening), as well as for skiers and snowboarders when movement and heating are replaced by the cessation of active movement and cooling on the slopes.
Nylon
Nylon, or polyamide, is the world's first synthetic fibre.
Its most outstanding feature is its exceptional strength, resistance to abrasion and water and, as a result, high durability, 10 times that of cotton and 20 times that of wool, and it is also stronger than polyester.
In the production of socks, nylon is usually blended with other materials to add strength and elasticity.
Lycra ®
It is very important for socks to be able to take the anatomical shape of any foot size, without forming folds that lead to chafing on the feet.
Lycra is the best elastane yarn on the market, the material of Lorpen socks contains up to 10% stretch nylon with Lycra.
The elasticity of Lorpen socks is provided by stretch nylon, with an inner elastane layer and a nylon coating.
The percentage and quality of stretch nylon determines the high elasticity and durability of the new sock.
