Materials
Cotton
Cotton is a very strong and durable fabric. It is made from the fruit of the cotton plant, the longer the fibres, the better and more expensive the fabric is considered to be.
Cotton has a high moisture capacity, it dries slowly, warms poorly and is breathable, which makes it possible to wear it in summer.
The fabric is very light and soft to the touch, pleasant to the body, and most importantly, it does not cause allergic reactions.
Modal
Semi-synthetic viscose fibre. Beech or eucalyptus wood is usually used as a source of cellulose for Modal.
Technological processing makes it possible to produce a special grade of yarn with a bio-organic base obtained through harmless chemical processing, without the use of chlorine typical of other chemical fibres.
This preserves the natural nutrients of the plants from which the yarn is produced.
The physical and chemical properties of the fibre are identical to natural materials (cotton, wool), rivaling silk in smoothness and lustre, and are as strong as viscose.
Modal is almost 1.5 times more hygroscopic than cotton; unlike cotton, the fabric has a low percentage of shrinkage and remains soft after washing.
Nylon
Nylon, or polyamide, is the world's first synthetic fibre.
Its most prominent feature is its exceptional strength, abrasion and water resistance and, as a result, high durability, 10 times that of cotton and 20 times that of wool, and it is also stronger than polyester.
In the production of socks, nylon is usually blended with other materials to give strength and elasticity.
In Lorpen socks, a nylon ball is used for extreme loads, located throughout the entire area, and for moderate loads - in the training zones.
The strategic placement of nylon in the outer layer of the socks guarantees a long service life.
Lycra ®
It is very important for socks to be able to take the anatomical shape of the foot of any size, without the formation of folds that lead to chafing on the feet.
Lycra is the best elastane yarn on the market, the material of Lorpen socks contains up to 10% stretch nylon with lycra.
The elasticity of Lorpen socks is provided by stretch nylon, with an inner elastane layer and a nylon coating.
The percentage and quality of stretch nylon determines the high elasticity and durability of the new sock.
That is why Lorpen socks retain their fit even after prolonged use and numerous washes.
